Smith & Nephew

The initial design of the Smith & Nephew typeface in 2003 was an international, creative collaboration between Smith & Nephew in the UK, Wolff-Olins in New York city, and in the San Francisco Bay Area, FontShop with Delve Fonts.

The typeface has since been updated by Delve Fonts, adding support for several more languages—including Cyrillic for Russian, eliminating redundancy (due to the limitations of legacy formats), minor revisions to improve legibility, especially at smaller point sizes, plus adding the OpenType features and classes that bring ease-of-use and increased consistency. Overall, the latest version of the Smith & Nephew typeface provides a better user experience, exceeded their expectations, and is a shining example of how we stand by our work over the lifetime of the typeface.
