Dave Bailey
Bio
Dave sees font design as the perfect mix of engineering and design. Growing up in a family of craftsmen and women, he was taught that details matter, and that everything has its place. Dave's job is to balance aesthetic beauty and practical function in letterforms, which is why he enjoys this work so much. Dave has worked designing typefaces and lettering for 15 years, including working on fonts for RedHat, Magic: The Gathering, Root Insurance, Starbucks, and Dropbox, amongst others. These days Dave is producing typefaces in collaboration with Delve Fonts and the Lost Type Co-Op, while enjoying living and working in sunny Oakland, California.
